Connect2Group is an Incorporated Association not for profit organisation with members (not shareholders). Operational matters are managed by our CEO and Senior Managers and guided by our Management Committee and our constitution. Our annual report(s) provide more information on achievements throughout the year.
Connect2Group commenced its operations in July 1993 and has over 20 years involvement in the community. Over the years Connect2Group has fostered change in disability services and provides Employment Services at Cleveland, Buranda, Mount Gravatt and Wacol; In Home Support; Accommodation Services; Lifestyle Options and provides support at the behavioural support units at The Park in Wacol. Looking to the future, Connect2Group will continue to thrive in the disability sector with our clients as our inspiration advocating with, and for, people with disability while encouraging community integration, providing information on disabilities and promoting acceptance. Connect2Group currently has Federal and State Government contracts to provide services to people with a disability across Brisbane, Redlands and Wacol areas to name a few.

Connect2Community General Manager Jamie Wynn presenting Councillor Wendy Boglary with an Appreciation Certificate from Connect2Group. Councillor Boglary was instrumental in assisting to finance the commissioning of a sealed car park at The Community Arts Precinct at Wellington Point. The new car park is now wheel chair friendly allowing significant client mobility to and from this community space. Connect2Group appreciate Wendy’s on going support and contribution to this space.
As a not for profit organisation we rely on donations to assist us to directly increase the level of practical support we can provide to our clients on a day to day basis.
How Can You Help
Leanne Jackson has worked at Connect2Group since 10 October 2011 and was appointed Executive General Manager of Connect2Group on 2 April 2013 and CEO on 30 November 2015. Leanne is responsible for Connect2Group's operations and reports directly to the members of the Management Committee.
Jamie has worked at Connect2Group since 12 August 2009 and was appointed to the role of General Manager Connect2Community on 23 July 2014 having previously held the role of General Manager Lifestyle Options. Jamie is responsible for Connect2Group's Lifestyle Options Program, Community Living Program, Community Arts Precinct and Community Gardens and is responsible for Connect2Group's contract with the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services and directly reports to the CEO.
Adrian Caneris is a Principal Wildlife Expert and Managing Director of BAAM Pty Ltd. He is a Certified Environmental Practitioner EIANZ) with expertise in vertebrate fauna assessment and identification; assessment of terrestrial habitats; ecological monitoring; wildlife management; biodiversity planning; feral species management and community liaison and facilitation.
Adrian has been involved in research, management, consulting, tertiary teaching and community-based studies of terrestrial ecology, particularly vertebrate fauna, throughout South-East Queensland for over 20 years.
After five years as a Wildlife Ranger with the Department of Environment and Heritage NatureSearch program, Adrian was employed as a Senior Conservation Officer Wildlife for Redland Shire Council from 1996 to 2002. Since 2002, Adrian has undertaken specialist consultancy work for local and state governments and private organisations.
Adrian’s experience and expertise is regularly sought for matters before Queensland’s Planning and Environment Court and an independent advisor for local governments to provide peer review and/or advice on significant development applications. Adrian joined the Management Committee of Connect2Group in August 2009.
Lynne has worked in community services since 1998 for Barnardo’s Australia, Richmond Community Services Inc, Forgotten Valley mobile resource unit, St Mary’s Community Project, TAFE, Community Justice Centre and Women’s Cottage, Women’s Housing Information Service, Department of Families and Warra Warra Legal Centre.
Lynne has run various group work and workshops for the community over the years.
Lynne holds the following qualifications, Statement of Attainment in Welfare, Advanced Certificate in Community Welfare, Associate Diploma in Social Science – Welfare Work and a Bachelor of Social Science – Social Welfare.
Lynne is a Justice of the Peace (Qualified), Civil Marriage Celebrant and a Mediator and Convenor and currently is the Secretary and Queensland State Representative of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFC).
Lynne is an artist and published author. Lynne joined the Management Committee of Connect2Group in May 2013.
Ron graduated in Melbourne with a Bachelor in Hospitality and Hotel Management. Ron’s First career position was Manager of Catering Services, Royal Melbourne Hospital. He later went on to be Sales Manager Food Services Nestle and Sales Manager Red Tulip Chocolates before he moved to Queensland to build and run a licenced reception lounge.
Ron sold the business after ten successful years and moved to Brisbane, where he took up the position of General Manager of Tandeema Foods and State Manager Murray Goulburn Dairy Co (Devondale brand).
Ron retired from the grocery industry and moved into the building supply industry where he remained until full retirement in 2010.
Ron joined the Management Committee of Connect2Group in July 2012.
Ian Weatherley has worked in primary, secondary and tertiary education in Qld, the UK and Canada. During the last 30 years he has fulfilled senior roles including both Deputy Principal and Principal. He holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education. He served a one-year secondment teaching and mentoring teacher trainees at the Simon Fraser University in Canada.
He has coached boys’ soccer, girls’ hockey and mixed tennis teams of ten winning premiership.
He has played a significant role in organising and chaperoning school music tours to Europe and America, as well as sporting tours to New Zealand. He has been involved in a number of community organisations including the Canadian Kinsmen, Toastmasters, an Advisory Planning Commission, a Family Counselling Service and Volunteer Marine Rescue.
Over many years he has served as an office bearer on committees including Chairman. He has also been recognised for having served as a Justice of the Peace for over 46 years.
Ian joined the Management Committee of Connect2Group in September 2012.
Paul has undertaken Senior Management, Governance and Legal roles over 20 years with one of Queensland's largest service focused organisations, RACQ and is currently a director of the RACQ Foundation. The Foundation's focus is to assist community groups impacted by severe weather events across the State. Paul has also been a Director of a number of RACQ Group entities.
Paul is involved with organisations, like ConnectGroup, that make a substantial long-term contribution to the community.
Paul is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Taxation Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Laws, Associate Diploma in Business and Master of Business (Management).
Paul joined the Management Committee of Connect2Group in November 2015.
